Does he deserved to be fired? Absolutely not. He has made some questionable moves during games at times and I'm never usually ecstatic about his lineup but I'm not going to pretend I know more about baseball than he does.
As I write this, the Astros are putting the finishing touches on yet another loss, this one an 11-2 smackdown at the hands of the Reds, or at least that was the score as of the top of the 9th. May is pretty much starting off like April finished for the Astros.
It's clear this team is in a funk, it has been since the season started. Something has to change and unfortunately there's very little that can be done from a personnel standpoint. Owners and GMs who feel the need to shake things up recognize it's a lot easier to change the coaching staff than it is the players.
Unless this team runs off 3 or 4 wins in a row, I gotta think that Drayton is going to start getting real antsy.
